Acura offers two engines for the TLX. The first engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 206 horsepower. It’s paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, paddle shifters and a steering wheel mounted eight-speed dual clutch transmission. The second engine is the 3.5-liter V6 that produces 290 horsepower. The engine is available with both a 9-speed automatic transmission and paddle shifters. The four-cylinder engine’s fuel economy is 24 mpg in the city, 35 on the highway and 28 combined. They are 21/34/25 with the V6 engine. Either engine or transmission can have the Super Handling All Wheel Drive.
The interior of the TLX is just as high-quality as other Acuras. It has many soft touch surfaces, and is well constructed. Although the controls and design are modern, there are still classic touches such as wood trim. Acura is very heavy on electronics and the number of options packages increases. Despite being complex, the various features are easy to use and work well. Although the infotainment screen may be large, it is not the largest available in the TLX’s car class. It is nice to have the second screen. This screen can display navigation routes and help you quickly choose a different route if there is an accident. The interior is roughly the same size as that of the old TL thanks to the same wheelbase. The interior is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate five people for shorter trips. Although there isn’t much extra space in either the front or back, those who are taller will not feel cramped. It is also quite spacious, making it a good choice for long road trips. The front seats are very comfortable and supportive. The rear seats are nearly the same height.
